By the time this third album was created, the musical identity of Abandoned Toys had become increasingly defined, while still leaving ample room for experimentation and growth. Building upon the atmospheric electronics, melodic sensibilities, and cinematic influences of earlier releases, the album introduces several important developments that would further shape the project's evolving sound.

One of the most significant changes was the introduction of recordings from an actual acoustic grand piano on selected tracks. While previous albums had relied primarily on high-quality sampled piano instruments, this release marked the beginning of incorporating performances captured from a real instrument. The resulting recordings brought a new level of warmth, nuance, and emotional authenticity to the music. The subtle resonances of the piano's soundboard, the natural dynamics of the performance, and the character of a physical instrument added an organic dimension that complemented the project's electronic foundations. I had spent the last few years deeply immersed in the piano compositions of artists and composers I admire, and my harmonic language had grown to a point where recording on a real grand piano finally felt right.

Another defining characteristic of the album is its expanded use of children's choir. While choral and wordless vocal elements had appeared previously, this release embraces them on a much larger scale, weaving youthful voices into many of the compositions as a central part of the musical landscape. These choir passages contribute a sense of wonder, innocence, mystery, and dreamlike beauty that became one of the album's most distinctive features.

Perhaps most uniquely, many of the choir performances feature lyrics written in a completely original fantasy language created specifically for the project. Rather than conveying literal meanings, the language was designed to function as an expressive and musical element in its own right. The unfamiliar words create the feeling of ancient stories, forgotten cultures, and imagined worlds, allowing listeners to connect emotionally with the music without being tied to a specific spoken language. This approach helped strengthen the album's sense of fantasy and immersion while giving the vocal performances a character unlike anything found on the project's earlier releases.

Together, these developments helped move Abandoned Toys into new creative territory. The combination of acoustic piano, expanded choral writing, electronic textures, and imaginative world-building resulted in an album that feels both more ambitious and more emotionally engaging than its predecessors. Looking back, it stands as an important milestone in the project's evolution and a release that further established many of the qualities that listeners would come to associate with the Abandoned Toys sound.
